I
prefer contact via e-mail, for several reasons. For one, I don't like publishing
my phone numbers on the internet - that makes it far too easy for someone
to look up my home address, to empty the place when I'm not there...
Furthermore, it's much easier to keep in touch via e-mail - to tell you that your pedal arrived, or that it's ready and have shipped, all I have to do is shoot you an e-mail, as opposed to looking up a phone # and calling (especially considering the times I keep...). And then there's the memory thing - I can always go back and look through the correspondence, if I were to find myself unsure of who exactly wanted what mod, for instance...
Shipping information
Shipping - carrier and costs
I normally use the Swedish postal service, as they are both cheap and reliable. Courier firms like UPS and DHL can sometimes be cheaper when shipping heavier items such as amps etc, but for packages this size, the good old postal service is hard to beat. Also (though only a factor when shipping outside the EU), the courier firms are obliged to declare everything at the port of entry - which means that you will almost always have to pay the customs fees. The national postal services don't seem to be quite as diligent in that area...
Packages very rarely get lost, and for the most part registered mail is not needed. However, if you feel you want the extra insurance (for instance, if you live in a country which postal service has a reputation for misplacing letters), I'll arrange it for you.
Shipping costs (typical:)
| Contents | Sweden | Europe |
| 1
regular pedal (Boss/Ibanez etc) |
40 SEK |
80
SEK |
| 1 wah-wah or 2-3 regular pedals |
55 SEK |
140
SEK |
| Wah-wah in original box | 75 SEK |
210
SEK |
| Several pedals in a box (52x32x12cm, max 5kg) | 160 SEK | 270 SEK 27.50 EUR |
| The same, but 5-20kg | 180 SEK | 370 SEK 38 EUR |
I normally use padded envelopes, filled with newspaper around the pedal (to avoid any sharpt edges damaging the envelope from the inside). If the pedal is not in its own box, I will wrap it in cardboard, to protect the knobs. So far, not a single pedal (out of several hundred) have been damaged leaving my shop.
Customs/duty fees
Trade within the European Union/EEC is always duty free, so no customs or duty fees will be added by any government agency when the package arrives to you.
For shipments outside the EU, you - the buyer/importer - are responsible for any fees incurred when importing goods to your country. Applicable fees can be duty, customs fees, sales tax and (depending on the carrier used) brokerage fees. The same goes for any customs fees incurred when shipping a pedal to me for modification - even though I will front the cost when collecting the pedal at my post office, it will be added to the total cost.
